Expectations
The candidate will be a technology enthusiast with a minimum 5 years experience and will be joining the existing team to assist with the development of their leading edge security technology.
Also:
•The successful candidate must have the ability to work to tight deadlines
•Possess excellent communication skills both verbally and written
•A proven track record of project delivery in the applications development sector
•A degree is also desirable although not a key requirement as every candidate will be judged on experience
•Understanding business requirements and effectively translate them into quality solutions
Technical Skills:
•Strong Java development skills inc. Spring Framework, JSP, Maven, Acegi and Hibernate
•Servlet container experience (Tomcat, Jetty, etc)
•Good understanding of Web Services (XML, SOAP)
•Good relational design skills on Oracle databases
•Excellent OO skills
•Familiarity of Web 2.0
•Good experience with tdd (JUNIT, FIT, etc)
Knowledge, Experience and Abilities:
•Minimum of 5 years experience as a Software Engineer
•Source code control experience (Subversion/CVS)
•Experience of test driven development within a Continuous Integration environment (Lunt, CruiseControl, etc)
•Code optimisation and profiling
•Strong analytical and problem solving skills
•Unit, Integration and Functional acceptance testing
•Experience of working in an agile environment
•The ability to establish and maintain confidence with ownership of issues
•Confidence working both independently and as part of a small team
•Ability to mentor / coach developers and a strong sense of best practise
